These Are Dangerous Mountains Only For the Daring to Climb
Mountaineering has remained to be one of the outdoor fun activities. However, it is not meant for every person. It is a sport meant only for those who have the confidence to go to the peak of the mountain. Only those who have the confidence to go those peaks can participate in this fun activity. Reaching the summit of the mountain is the most fulfilling thing that a mountaineer can achieve. It should however not be lost to you that mountaineering is not all about fun. It features as a very risky sport and deadliest of all. Many people have tried to climb different mountains on the earth and have died due to collapse and other risks. Various accidents have made others maimed. This should not make you fear if you truly love mountain climbing. If you are not very skillful in mountain climbing, then don’t try to climb one of these dangerous mountains on the earth.
Mont blank massif remains to be the deadliest mountain on the earth. It is the tallest in the alpine range and has a height of 15,782ft. Year in year out, climbers have been dying due to rocks slides and steep rocks. It’s the fatality rate is the highest going to 100 people per year mark. Since history, it has claimed lives of 6000 people. President Theodore Roosevelt climbed the mountain in 1886 which has made it very popular.
Annapurna is the second mountain on the list. The height of the mountain is 26,246 ft. Climbers from everywhere are attracted by the Nepal Annapurna which is the tallest peak. Since 1950, the mountain has been climbed successfully by 191 climbers. Sixty people have since died as they tried to reach the summit of Annapurna. It is regarded as the most dangerous in all mountains with 8000-meter peaks.
Another mount under focus is the K2 which is the second highest in the world. The mount is located on the Pakistan-china border and boasts of 28,251 ft. Climbing Kilimanjaro is easy but not K2. This happens to be the case even on the easiest route where there are steep rocks, complicated glaciers and ice pillars that can collapse. This mount seems to be biased against female climbers. Six women had tried to climb the mountain and five of them died since year 2003.
Nanga Parbat is another mountain in this category and is known as the man eater. The mount is located in Pakistan and boasts of 26,657ft. It features an enormous ridge of ice and rock. It ranks as number nine in height in the world and has the tallest mountain face. It has claimed the lives of 31 climbers by 1953.
